He calls upon us to personal that what's now known as the character of ladies is an eminently synthetic thing, the result of pressured repression in some directions, of unnatural stimulation in others; that their character has been solely distorted and disguised by their relations with their masters, who have saved them in so unnatural a state; that if it were not for this there would not be any material distinction, nor maybe any difference at all, within the character and capacities which would unfold themselves; that they might do the identical issues as males fully as well on the whole, if education and cultivation were tailored to correcting, as an alternative of aggravating, the infirmities incident to their temperament; and that they have been robbed of their natural growth, and introduced into their current unnatural state, by the brutal proper of the strongest which man has used.
